2023 is drawing to a close. Looking back, we can say that this was a year which confronted the World with many challenges; each of which we all tried to master as well as possible. Whilst the Corona pandemic is more or less behind us, unfortunately the terrible war in Eastern Europe continues, Hamas attacked and started a war with Israel and during this time of great geopolitical turbulence, the rest of the World struggles with economic fears and inflation.
We pray for the victims of these struggles all over the World and hope, with all our might, for peace and tolerance and that people ultimately realize the right way forward is not against but with one another. Over Christmas we enjoy spending quality time with family and friends. The entire Christmas season is filled with so much love and a feeling of comfort which needs to be spread around the World and ideally to touch each individual.
Around this time it is customary and important for us to extend our warmest pre-Christmas Advent greetings. May all your wishes come true this Christmas! In keeping with our past tradition, we prefer to promote worthy social causes rather than exchanging Christmas gifts.
This year we are giving something special to a very special person –
human warmth and with it, a feeling of always having support in a difficult situation.
Jonas is 3 years old, diagnosed with hydrocephalus, infantile cerebral palsy, epilepsy and he has difficulty keeping the right side of his body under control. For this child, it means in everyday life he remains dependent upon the support of his parents as he cannot walk alone. Jonas exercises a lot to improve the coordination in the right side of his body. He can walk only holding the hands of his parents but of course he would like to do that all day long, because he enjoys it very much.
His heart's desire is a walking trainer. A gait trainer is a healing aid that optimally stabilizes Jonas' upper body and supports his pelvic and hip area. This will enable him to walk without assistance and without being dependent on others. The walking trainer can be flexibly adapted to his needs and training requirements depending on whether Jonas is learning to walk with it in the beginning, or later becoming a pro with the device by being able to dart back and forth. The walking trainer also strengthens his leg muscles and promotes his sense of balance.
Unfortunately no medical insurance will provide this much needed equipment. However now, in your name and with the help of the organization "Light for Children", we have fulfilled Jonas' heart's desire and that of his parents by purchasing a walking trainer for him.
On Jonas' behalf, we thank YOU very much and would like to share with you the beautiful and touching moment of the handover to Jonas and his family.
We thank you for staying loyal, always believing in us during this challenging year and for your everlasting support. This allowed us to efficiently solve any problem that we were facing and to successfully overcome challenges. The success stories we write would be unimaginable without you. We highly appreciate the good relationship we are sharing.
